About Yolanda Akins, IBCLC, CST, CPI
Yolanda is a licensed International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant.
As an accomplished professional with a diverse range of qualifications and certifications, she brings a wealth of expertise to the field. With a solid foundation in healthcare and an unwavering commitment to excellence, she has acquired a series of notable qualifications throughout her career.
Yolanda's journey began in 2003 when she completed Phlebotomy training, equipping her with the fundamental skills to excel in the medical field. Building upon this foundation, she obtained an Allied Health Certificate in 2004, further expanding her knowledge and understanding of various healthcare disciplines.
Never one to rest on laurels, she pursued a Surgical Technology degree in 2005, honing her technical skills and cultivating a deep appreciation for the critical role of surgical teams in healthcare delivery.
After starting a family, she was driven by her own breastfeeding struggles and lack of resources. Yolanda was accepted to the prestigious LEAARC accredited lactation program at Georgia Northwestern Technical College where she worked to earned the respected title of IBCLC (International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant) certification in 2020. This certification exemplifies her dedication to supporting breastfeeding mothers and infants, allowing her to provide comprehensive lactation consulting services with utmost proficiency. Yolanda specializes in tongue-tie assessment, milk supply issues, positioning, latch, mastitis and much more!

​In her free time, she enjoys exercising, crafting, and trying new foods.
Yolanda enjoys spending time with her husband and children. She enjoyed nursing all three of her children and cherished the bonding time.
